March into a Challenge

Let’s Get Real! Food Challenge starts today and I have joined. The idea of the challenge is to eat nothing manufactured or processed for a month, try eating locally and seasonally. I know I won't be perfect, there are just some things this working cowgirl hasn't found the time to do.
A number of the folks taking part have posted photo's of their refrigerator,I am not yet ready to do this.I have no intentions of cheating myself, I just really need to clean the fridge (maybe tonight). The rules of this challenge are set by the participants, the goal is to reduce what is consumed in each home as far as packaged foods.
Each of the participants has a different goal for the month for this challenge, some just want to eat less fast food, and take out and some want to produce all they consume.I land a bit in between the extremes. I will be challenged to serve fresh , local. March first finds us running low on our favorite preserved foods in the pantry and the garden is not yet up and running. The hens are producing more regularly and we still have our winter garden CSA.
Not Dabbling In Normal reported to come up with this challenge after watching Food Inc. I have already in a past post blogged about the power of this movie.

I'm skipping this challenge but will be playing along in spirit. Our baby's due March 9, so I think that will be enough challenge for this month! :)

I am so very glad you are joining us! I can completely relate to the refrigerator thing...that is why I didn't show the messy parts of mine, lol! Kim
