Hot Stuff

This week end we finally got a break from the rain. It was a beautiful clear sunny week end in Maine. The clear skies gave Bob and Nickel a chance to get of the farm and do some draft horse work. The y worked with some fellow teamsters at the Abenaki Draft Horse Club getting the garden ready.Sonny and his team of Belgians plowed the earth, with Dicks plow and then Bob and Nick harrowed the land with a drag harrow.Working the garden at the draft horse club is no small job these horses put in a honest days work. The teamsters working the drafts gave the horses lots of opportunities to rest.

The harrow Nickel is dragging is quite heavy when I try to move it around, Nickel makes it look easy.
