Modern Technology
Modern Technology , has been a hassle the past couple days. On Monday afternoon the sun was shining,so the big boys were able to go out in the back pasture. They only get out back to graze under dry sunny conditions as their weight , just destroys the ground if wet. They looked so happy I took photo's. When I came in to share the photo's my USB cord to my camera was no good. Yesterday I went out in the rain and purchased a new cord. When I returned the weather was so bad the Internet was down. This morning I thought I would share the photo's before I go out to the farmers market. After some time of unplugging , rebooting, and calling tech support we are back up. So here are three day old photo's hope they were worth the wait. Now I am off to Portland Farmers Market, to see what yummy stuff I can find for Bob's Birthday dinner.

My good boy
Nickel was such a good boy over the week end . A year ago there was no way you could pull in this yard unload two horses, one in heat put them into our barn and expect Nickel not to through a fit. He was soo good we had a nice trail ride, although he did choose to go around the puddles. He was well mannered.
Start of my Vacation
I am officially on vacation, for nine days.
We are off to a good start Jess came up on Friday night with Dexter for a little week end get away. Merri arrived on Saturday afternoon for a little horse play. Merri brought with her 2 horses Chief and Penny as well as a friend, Michelle and Kevin her husband. Saturday night we got rained out with down pours so we did BBQ inside and let the horses settle in. Sunday was an early morning , up with the sun.
We started with a wagon ride, then the girls hit the trail for a long awaited trail ride.

Sunny days
chasing the clouds away.
Maine is so wonderful when the sun shines.Bobby and Keri visited last night after 4 days on the Saco, Maine river. It was wonderful to see them, even for a short visit. Today I picked up my garden share at Wild Root and Bob and I had an awesome dinner. We had cowbell seasoned steak from Whole Foods, kale with red onions (grilled) corn on the cob heirloom tomatoes and farm fresh radish mmmmm.

rain makes the grass grow,
and the grass makes the Belgians grow. It seems as though it has been raining for weeks. Every time we get a day off we cut the lawn. Yesterday we had sun, so we bathed the big boys. Nickel is growing up and out. He measures 17.2 at the withers and 18 on the Heine end , he towers Bob .Jake seems to be settling in.The weather changed before we were done with baths so the Minni's did not get a turn, next time.

July 4th Weekend
Well it's Monday , the holiday week ends over and it's time to get back to work. The week end did not really include any "holiday" stuff. Bob and I hung around and worked in the yard and played with the animals. The sun finally came out. The run in is almost complete, all that's left to be done is lighting and decorative hardware. The lawn is mowed and the hoofs got trimmed. I infused some Maine wildflower honey with , strawberries for the holiday baskets.

Field trip
The big boys took a field trip , to the club today.Daddy was off, so he chaperoned. They are helping to upkeep the lawn mowing. It was very, very nice to see the sun. It may be that I am the proud Mom,but I think Jake is looking real good. His eyes skin and coat all look so much better then when we took him in, in November.

double trouble
We had a pretty peaceful night, considering the addition. This morning we released Joe Jo with Mini Sparks, they went crazy! They ran and kicked and jumped and slid in the mud. They are so happy to have each other. YAY You can not really see Joe Jo's handsome colors, he's a Blondie paint coverd in mud. Four baths are to follow. Last week end I bathed the hounds, in Audrey's honor. I felt so bad that she passed dirty , that I washed the boys on the one sunny day. I had been putting dog baths off for my vacation but I was sadly reminded , some times you should not wait till tomorrow. Tonight I am going to get Huck and do a rain dance , so Keri will see the sun on her Birthday tomorrow. (warning we have no dance skills)
