Brackett's Orchards , Maine

Bobby and Keri are here for the week end, and today we went apple picking.

We went to an orchard that was new to us Brackett;s Orchards in Limington , Maine.

The view from the orchard was beautiful,the people were very charming and the apples were Huge and yummy. The orchard was 3oo years old, and the couple who greeted us were third generation to the current owners. Oddly they live in Middleboro Ma. and come to Maine to help on the orchard on the week ends. When you arrive at the orchard you go in a little building a"store" and purchase a bag to hold your apples. You can purchase a bushel bag or a peck bag. The building was very neat , awesome style.

Morning Chill

The air is brisk here in Maine in the morning. We are starting to switch to fall mode. Yesterday Bob pulled the tomato plants, it was a sad year for tomatoes in Maine due to Blight.Today we planted Chinese cabbage and other cold crops, lettuce and red cabbage.

Lager

New picture arrived today of Lager via email. Can't wait to get him home.

Star of the Day

Elvis is the star of the day. Today Elvis Graduated from basic obedience class. He did real well , at least now he does not drag me on the leash. Of course his favorite part was the frosty paws.

Wish I had some watermellon

My critters LOVE watermelon. Today I shucked a full melon for Bob and I.The pig and the chickens got the peal.

Day of Riding

Today was an awesome day! A day of sun shine, horse trails and riding. My friends Dick and Charlene came over with three horses and we all went trail riding, with Jesse. Everyone had a nice ride and returned safe .

Big Boys

Jesse is home for the week end, so we went riding. Bob and I first to workout the kinks. They are good boys!Jake is staring to come along, he is a good ride

Nick is always safe and sound.

Home Sweet Home

When we opened the door this morning kitty was waiting.

I am very proud of Elvis and his people partner. They have come a long way and next week is graduation.
