Tonight Big Jake(AKA My Big Sexy)got new shoes.As a rule we don't shoe our horses ,here at Hooves and Hounds. We like barefoot horses. That being said , much of the health of our animals comes from trusting some fine professionals. We have Vets and Farriers we trust, and the Farrier recommended shoes.With Jake's gravel blow out, we have put much time and attention into his feet(we have put lots of time all along). Matt our farrier, said front shoes would be the best insurance for rebuilding Jake's feet. So tonight he got new, custom built size nine shoes. These shoes were each built for Jake from 20" straight stock (steel) cut and forged for his feet.
