Jesse and Dexter are home, in Maine for Fathers Day week end. It is cold and wet and a good excuse to eat fondue. So we did just that. Of course Fondue always makes us think of Fredi , our Swiss exchange son.
Fondue
1 clove garlic
2 cups white wine or KJ
4 tsp lemon juice
2 1/2 - 3 1/2 c each Gruyere and Emmentaler shredded
1 shot vodka (per. Jay)
1 heaping teaspoon corn starch
pepper
nutmeg
french bread cubed
Rub the caquelon with garlic, heat the wine and lemon , melt the cheese add corn starch season stir the entire time . Take from stove and keep hot over sterno as you enjoy. If you make it to the bottom of the pot the garlic and grilled cheese is the reward. (Just do n
ot fling it at anyone)
